Here is a List of Challenges for You, And The Person Who Will Show The Result(s) First Will Win Linux Distribution DVDs, DVDs Containing Linux Packages Like Games, Media Players, System Tools, Programming Tools etc. and Other Linux Related Gifts. So, Dont wait, Search the Net for Solutions, Implement Them and Show Them To Us
1> Install 3 different Linux Distributions on Single PC, i.e. Quad Boot Your Laptop, 3 Linux Flavours and 1 Windows Operating System.
2> Put A Background Image On Grub, and It Should Give Windows First Preference In Booting.
3> Run A Virtual Machine In Linux and Install Windows 7 or Vista or XP Using that VM.
4> We all know that Hibernating Your PC in Windows and then Waking It Results in Restarting of PC if You Have Linux Pre-installed. All You Have to do is Mount The Hibernation File in Linux. To Know Where the file is located, Google it.
5> Set Up File Sharing Between Two PC using Wi-fi in Linux and Also Install any Multiplayer Game and Play Against Each Other.
NOTE: Winner's Name will Also Be Put on The BLOG And Announced in Next Seminar.

About LinuxGyaan
We are an Open Society in which there are no volunteers except for us i.e. Mohit Singh, Himanshu Gupta, Aakanksha and Puneet Yadav. We are the Organisers as well as Speakers.
Our Teacher-in-charge is Dr. Mayank Dave.
We are the Speakers till now, but anyone can come and speak on any topic of his/her choice provided he/she tell us 2-3 days in advance so that we could make proper arrangements.
Our main aim is to promote usage of Linux in our Campus and our objective is see every student using Linux along with Windows for day to day purpose.

1. Compiz ->Extremely Useful Package for Enabling Mind-Boggling Special Effects which Transforms Linux and Take It Beauty To Level Unmatchable by Windows. Install it from Synaptic and select all packages whose name start with compiz.
2. VLC ->Install it from Synaptic.
3. Cheese ->Install it from "Applications", then "Add/Remove" and then select "All Available Applications" from "Show" Push Down Button, then in "Search" Bar, type "Cheese" and install it
4. Audacity ->Vary good Audio Editing Tool.
5. NetBeans ->Very Good Development Tool.
6. Alarm Clock -> For Obvious Reasons.
7. Wallpaper Tray ->Changes Wallpaper After Customize Time Period. Install It from Synaptic.
8. Wine ->Runs Window's Executable Files like IP Msg.
9. K3b ->Extremely Effective and User-friendly CD/DVD Burner.
10. Picassa ->Google Tool For Imaging.
11. Google Earth ->Add a Google Server Address(google for the address of server or just ask us) to Your Repositories and Install it.
12. By Adding Google Repository, You'll Get Access to Other Google Products Also.

We need volunteers from all years, all branches, both boys and girls so that they can take up the role of adviser if any student of his/her branch has any difficulty (in case you are unable to help, then publish the problem on this and other blogs). He/She will also be given responsibility of organizing various presentations, managing this blog, inviting various teachers for our presentations, inviting teachers to be our guest lecturer, publicity and looking after our various resources like money, CD's, DVD's, and other material.
From next semester, few of them can take up the role of President and Organiser also.
